Microsurgery is a Methodology : A Part from The Book : Periodontal Microsurgery

There exists a need for a therapy that not only focuses on prioritizing the eradication of illness but also restores aesthetics and function as patient awareness has evolved over the years. In addition to these, minimal trauma and distress are also essential throughout any surgical treatment. Daniel RK described microsurgery as surgery performed under the magnification of an operating microscope. And according to Serafin, microsurgery is a methodology, a modification, and a refinement of current surgical procedures that employ magnification to enhance visibility. It has implications for and is applicable to all specialties.
