The clinical effects of Glucopuncture : A Part from The Book : Glucopuncture: A Clinical Guide to Regional Glucose 5% Injections

The exact mechanism of action of GP is not well understood (yet) and is likely multifactorial. Large randomized controlled trials (RCTs) are warranted to make specific recommendations regarding ideal protocols and indications. This lack of hard evidence implies that author and publisher cannot make any claims (yet) about the clinical effects of Glucopuncture. Although there are a few double blind studies on ISW injections, more research is required to confirm efficacy and safety of GP. This book can be regarded as an invitation to the medical community to do so in the near future.

The introduction of a new term to describe ISW injections might give more exposure to its possible benefits among patients and professional health care providers. The major advantages of this method are its safety and easy application. Especially medical insurance companies may become interested in the attractive benefit-cost ratio of GP. It is obvious that GP is especially interesting for medically underserved populations.
